Today cPanel 11.23 was released. There are many improvements. It would take me far too long to list them all. So if you would like to read them all please go here: http://blog.cpanel.net/?p=51
The biggest improvement that I like is the integration of Roundcube Webmail. Before it was a “hack” to get it to work but now it finally comes with cPanel.
At the time of posting this the update was @ 70% and should be complete within the next 5 minutes.
EDIT: cPanel 11.23 is now installed and working.

The power outage fried some hardware. There won’t be any down time if everything goes as planned.
We will be going on generators to replace the breaker that took the brunt of the lightning hit Tuesday night.
We had the manufacturer engineer inspect it today and it sustained a lot of damage. It is functioning – but it does not have overcurrent fault protection any more since that circuitry was fried. Apparently the hit it took was “massive” according to their engineer. We also inspected the bus and all the lugs and stabs – and they were not warped so we are good on that.
We expect the replacement breaker to be here tomorrow. We are also ordering a replacement. These breakers are 20K each so lets hope this does not happen again.
We do not expect this to be a service affecting maintenance.
We are also doing a full test of the entire battery plant on Tuesday – this is the soonest the battery engineer was able to come out.
More news if anything else arises.

It looks like at roughly 8pm est the server went down. I got an instant message from a client saying that his email was down. So I proceeded to go to my server status page and noticed that it wasn’t loading. I tried ssh’ing in and it timed out. So now I was like just f*cking great. Just as I get a support ticket ready to be sent in the client that im’ed me earlier said “oh wait it’s back”. I reloaded my server status page and sure enough it was but the uptime was back to 0.
Had a good 23 day run
Here’s what happened:
Severe storm cells came through North Georgia Region this evening. AtlantaNAP experienced an over current fault outage on one of our 2 main feeds. The feed is the original feed that has the most load currently connected to it. The amount of systems connected to the load is the amount of lightning and over current that will try to be passed to the system – i.e. if you don’t have very much load on it – like our new feed is currently only at 1/6th load – then current does not try to flow to it very much. Our first system is currently at 65% load so it tried to absorb much more of the lightning strike than the other one and hence the main breaker going into over current fault.
I have spoken with all of our key electrical engineers associated with the building at this point. According to Georgia power / our PSSI and Cummins engineers – we likely took a lightning strike to the utility very near the facility which caused an over current fault on our main incoming breaker on our first set of switchgear. The breaker is designed to trip in the event of this kind of fault to protect the gear (your computers) inside the building from being burned up by the lightning strike.
I am glad no equipment was destroyed.
No one else has said anything about the outage to me so this is just an fyi.
